Our pump cost calculator will determine the cost of running your pump, for the time period that you specify.
It is recommended that a circluation pump run 24/7, but a supplementary pump may be added for certain water features such as waterfalls.
If your pump is rated in watts, the calculator will show results listed in watts. You can also calculate pump usage listed in amps(120 volt or 220 volt). In terms of energy consumption, choosing a pump rating of the lowest wattage possible for the amount of GPH required by your pond, will reduce the operating cost. Pumps are either 110v or 220v, but the 110 v pump is commonly used and can be plugged into a GFCI.
In choosing a pump, an external pump will typically use less energy than a submersible pump for the same amount of GPH, and usually lasts longer. Conserving our precious resources while enjoying your garden pond is what it is all about.
